FFF is the term used for “Fused Filament Fabrication“, also referred to as “Fused Deposition Modelling“. It is currently the most commonly used method for Desktop 3D printing. The technology is an “additive” process by laying down material in layers initially developed in the late 1980’s. Variations on this process have appeared under the names of Plastic Jet Printing (PJP) and Thermoplastic Extrusion (TPE) to name a few. For ease, we’ll continue to refer to this related group of technologies as the FFF 3D printing technology.
